Penny Dreadful ran on Showtime from 2014-2016 and spanned three seasons. The highly anticipated spin-off series, Penny Dreadful: City of Angels, is coming soon. While information about the new series leaked steadily since it was first announced in November 2018, more has been discovered as the show’s release date approaches. As far as we can tell, the spin-off series is not directly related to the original series, which was set in the Victorian era and worked off the original term that inspired the series....

Crucible is a relatively new PvP shooter game developed by Relentless Studios. It was released on May 21, 2020, on Steam. The game is off to a rocky start since players are having a tough time trying to download it. Moreover, several players are now experiencing connectivity and queuing issues in Crucible. Players have taken to Twitter and other social platforms to voice their concerns. It appears that the issue is widespread and many Crucible players aren’t able to play the game....

When I moved in 2013, I decided I was done with physical media for TV shows and movies and ripping all of my DVDs into digital format. I set up my first very Plex server running on an old MacBook Pro I had, and it worked well for several years. Plex continues to expand its free collection of streaming films. The company announced today that it has partnered with Lionsgate to make a collection of free movies available to Plex users around the world. Last month, Plex announced a similar deal with Warner Bros. to make a collection of feature films available to Plex users for free. Today’s partnership with Lionsgate further expands that initiative. All Plex users will have access to the content – not just Plex Pass subscribers....

There has long been debate over the extent to which macOS and iOS will converge. Some think we’ve already gone too far down that route, with Launchpad coming in for particular criticism as an unnecessary child-like interface (though it can be made more useful). The latest Apple ID phishing scam comes in the form of a fake confirmation of a Spotify subscription. The phishing attempt hopes to get you to give up your Apple ID by erroneously claiming you’ve purchased a year of Spotify Premium. The tactic was first reported on by Business Insider. Essentially, the hackers send an email that is a fake confirmation of a year-long Spotify Premium subscription agreement. If you choose the option to “review your subscription,” you’re taken to a page that disguises itself as an Apple ID login page....

I know, it seems an odd question. But a few different things over the last couple of days got me thinking … Years ago, before either Google or Apple ecosystems were really deserving of the term, I managed all my device synchronisation manually: I decided what content got synced on what devices. My music too: iTunes was allowed to play it, but not to manage it – I took care of the folder structures and meta-data myself....

Almost 200 patent infringement claims against Apple may have been rejected illegally, says a new report today. Apple succeeded in having the patents declared invalid by a panel of judges who form an entity known as The Patent Trial and Appeal Board. But now the US Supreme Court has agreed to rule on a claim that this process is unconstitutional… Bloomberg Quint reports that the question is whether the judges needed to have been directly appointed by the president in order to assume their powers....
