Phishing attacks reaching macOS users look set to more than double this year, with emails specifically claiming to be from Apple growing at 30%-40% per year. In the first half of this year, around 1.6 million phishing attacks attempting to fool people into using their Apple ID credentials to log in to a fake Apple website were detected by a security company… Kaspersky says that its figures reflect only attacks on Macs running its own security software — many of which are in corporate environments — suggesting that the true total number of phishing attempts is very much higher....

On this blogger’s second century ride of the season, I noticed the groan-inducing “low battery” icon on my near-antique Polar S710 cyclecomputer/HRM–I now have to send it to Polar for a battery and chest strap replacement. One of the complaints about Apple’s new MFi game controllers has been the lack of an App Store section that lists games updated with support. Let’s face it, whatever anyone thinks about the rest of the iPhone 6/6s design, those antenna lines running across the back of the phone have never been popular. The need for them resulted from Apple’s decision to switch to an all-aluminum casing. Radio signals can’t pass through the metal, so Apple broke up the casing with two plastic strips which are transparent to radio signals. iPhone X shipping estimates continue to improve rapidly from Apple. Following estimates dropping to 1-2 weeks last week, Apple today has refreshed estimates to show a common delivery date of December 8th, meaning you’ll get your device one week after you order… Despite early estimates reaching 5-6 weeks, Apple has done an excellent job of improving iPhone X production and working alongside production partners and suppliers to do so.
