Two episodes are currently available, the first an interview with Idris Elba and his wife … Elba tweeted on March 16 that he had tested positive, but had no symptoms. His wife had not been tested at the time and also has no symptoms. The interview was conducted via FaceTime. Which is why I FaceTimed @idriselba & his wife Sabrina who are safely quarantined together after he tested positive for COVID-19....

An Apple patent application which surfaced this morning in the United States Patent & Trademark Office’s database envisions advanced proactive measures that are likely to end up utilized in the free Find My iPhone service (which can locate stolen Macs, too). Pine’s interesting diplomacy system can’t save it from its dull combat, repetitive quests, and severe technical problems. On paper, Pine looks like an interesting twist on a successful formula. The action-adventure game puts players in a world where humans are far from the dominant species, but instead of trying to conquer an untamed land, they need to forge alliances with their neighbors to survive. While its diplomacy system does stand out, it’s not enough to make up for the frustrating combat and crafting, and it’s completely overshadowed by the Switch version’s disastrous performance problems....

According to Sudo Security Group’s GuardianApp, an effort led by security researcher Will Strafach, several popular iOS apps “have been used to covertly collect precise location histories from tens of millions of mobile devices, using packaged code provided by data monetization firms.” The security report claims that in some instances these apps have been used to send constantly updated GPS coordinates to companies that make money from acquiring and selling customer data....

Predictions that larger-screened iPhones would cannibalise iPad usage look to be confirmed by some stats from the Pocket app that allows you to save webpages, videos and other content for reading later. After updating the iOS WWDC app and launching a tvOS version last week, Apple today has added a new page to its WWDC website that confirms its plans to live stream the kick off keynote. As usual, Apple will open WWDC week with a keynote event on June 13th at 10AM PT/1PM ET. The keynote will be available to live stream across iPhone, iPad, and Mac via Apple’s WWDC website. Second and third-gen Apple TV users will be able to stream the event thorough an Events channel that will presumably be added over the coming days, while fourth-gen users will most likely stream it via the just released WWDC app....

I first speculated that Apple might one day become a bank almost a year before the launch of Apple Pay. What triggered that thought was the use of Touch ID for iTunes purchases and the depth of security involved in the secure enclave used by Apple’s fingerprint system. Last year Microsoft ended support for Facebook Connect, but the social network sees a return with support for Facebook Photos. Users will now be able to easily find and attach photos they have uploaded to the social network, right from with Outlook.com Outlook.com Supporting Facebook Photos and Google Drive Outlook Mail currently includes support for Dropbox and BOX online cloud services, added earlier this year. Twitter’s live video streaming app Periscope is out with a big update today adding a key promised feature. Periscope for iPhone version 1.1 now lets you find live streams around the world based on location using a new map view from the global tab. This lets you jump into streams going on around you or watch something interesting happening on the other side of the world. In addition to adding the new maps view, Periscope has been localized in 29 more languages: English, Japanese, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Korean, Russian, Turkish, Portuguese, Dutch, Indonesian, Simplified Chinese, Danish, Finnish, Polish, Norwegian, Swedish, Thai, Arabic, Czech, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Malay, Romanian, Traditional Chinese, Ukrainian, Vietnamese....

For those unfamiliar, the Philips Hue Sync Box features four HDMI inputs. You can connect your media devices to your Hue setup, which will allow your smart lights to respond to and reflect the content you’re watching or listening to. Plex Pass users will be getting an additional benefit from their subscription today as the company announces the addition of Live TV. Currently in beta, the service allows users of indoor and outdoor antennas to watch their favorite shows live through Plex. Combined with Plex’s DVR feature, Live TV becomes another veritable option for cord-cutters. The Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi scrapped global MIUI beta testing program. This brought new updates to a block of users before rolling out on a large scale.
