There isn’t any question that Apple’s working on a larger-screened iPad: early details leaked in 2013 and have been followed by dimensional drawings and prototype shells over the past year. All of the leaks suggest that the “iPad Pro” or “iPad Plus” will be nearly identical to the iPad Air 2, except with an almost 13″ screen and four (rather than two) speaker grilles. Few of the leaks have suggested major new design elements, such as an extra connector port, an integrated stand, or a stylus; no one believes Apple will even rotate the rear logo to signify a preferred horizontal orientation....

Over three years ago, Panic introduced an app that quickly gained popularity, especially from pro users. Called Status Board, the iOS app displayed a host of information, all in a modular, easy to follow interface. Today, however, Panic announced that it is discontinuing development of Status Board. In a blog post, Panic explains its reasoning for discontinuing Status Board. One contributing factor, the company writes, is that the app is targeted mainly towards pro users and there’s simply not a large pro market on iOS:...

I had the opportunity to talk to a lot of people at Macworld who had the exact opposite experience. They’d come from such places as Philadelphia (see #2), San Diego, and even Chicago where their iPhones actually behaved like … phones. Trying to make a call at Macworld expo was comical. There was no shortage of attendees screaming into their phones, repeating themselves over and over and pausing to look at their screens to see if the call was still connected....

MacRumors today reports that Pixel Qi’s screens would make a great match for the rumored Apple tablet. Indeed, 10.1 inches and the ability to display eInk-like text in full sunlight as well as full color video — and at the same time using a fraction of the energy could make Apple’s tablet a real “game changer”. This isn’t the first time the two companies have been seen together, however. Many reports from 2008 and this year have wondered the same question: Are apple and Pixel Qi working together on the Tablet?...

Since its initial launch last week, the insanely popular Pokémon Go has gradually been rolling out to more countries. Most recently, the app launched in Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Now, it has been announced that the title is available in 26 new countries across Europe. The Pokémon Company recently hosted a 24-hour livestream of Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Glimwood Tangle Forest location, which introduced one new pocket monster and little else. There has been some major ebbs and flows associated with the lead up to Sword and Shield this November. It’s been so intense that some gamers have committed to boycotting the titles–although this seems like an overreaction. A (relatively sketchy) leak posted to Weibo this morning purports to show a slide from an internal presentation at China Mobile, one of the largest iPhone carriers worldwide (via Macotakara). It claims that the 6.1-inch model is named ‘iPhone XC’ and the new high-end 6.5-inch phone is ‘iPhone XS Plus’. It also raises a few more details on pricing and availability … Leaks like these have been accurate in the past....

Fake Twitter accounts can range from mildly annoying through to fraudulent, and the company is testing a new ‘original tweeter’ feature designed to help you identify genuine accounts from copycats … Although the blue ‘verified’ checkmark was supposed to do that job, Twitter got into a bit of a mess with it. It initially limited the verification to those deemed ‘public figures,’ before later saying it would open applications to everyone, but put the program on hold after it emerged that it had inadvertently verified accounts belonging to neo-Nazis and conspiracy theorists....

Popular third-party podcast app Overcast this evening has been updated with Apple Watch support. The update bumps the app to version 3.1 and comes as improved Apple Watch support has been one of the most oft-requested features for the app… The update was pushed to Overcast this evening and allows users to sync podcast downloads to their Apple Watch. In order to do so, users simply head to the “Queue Menu” and choose the “Send to Watch” option....

Parks and Recreation had a lot of in-your-face characters, but none of them can compare to Craig Middlebrooks. Played by the hilarious Billy Eichner, Craig is part of the Eagleton Parks Department and is the only member of that team to stay on in Pawnee. Craig is a passionate character and he often manifests that passion in the form of overdramatic yelling. He easily could have been an extremely annoying character but is saved thanks to Eichner’s performance and some hilarious one-liners....
