Phil Schiller recently joined Dutch website Bright.nl for a sit down interview. The Apple executive touched on topics such as the iPhone X and Face ID, as well as augmented reality and smart home technology. Power Rangers may not have beaten Justice League at the box-office but the film still managed to score higher on Rotten Tomatoes. Power Rangers was the big screen comeback for the iconic franchise, with the previous movie being 1997’s Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie. The new film starred Elizabeth Banks and Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) and took a more grounded tone to the somewhat cheesy source material. The movie also came out in 2017, the same year as Justice League....

Back in the nineties, Mighty Morphin Power Rangers was the show to watch, and though some of the special effects and monster costumes might have been laughable, the show was thoroughly entertaining. Now, more than twenty years later, it’s more than worthy of a decent cinematic reboot. Hopefully, that’s what it’s getting, in the form of Power Rangers, from Saban and Lionsgate. There have been some issues, not least with the furor over the female Rangers’ costume design, but Power Rangers trailers have looked promising so far, and all things point towards the movie both honoring the original, plus updating it and bringing something new to the proceedings....
