Apple Watch competitor Pebble has today announced a hefty update to its smartwatch experience. The update, which bumps the company’s Pebble Time smartphone app for iPhone to version 3.6 and the watch firmware to version 3.9, includes a variety of enhancements to Health, Messages, and more. As far as Pebble Health goes, the company says that a new API is now available that allows watchfaces and apps to take advantage of Pebble Health stats....

Today, third-party Apple hardware maker OWC announced the acquisition of LumaForge, best known for its Jellyfish lineup of shared storage solutions primarily aimed at video content houses. Notably, LumaForge will continue as a company, with team intact, as it seeks to further expand its hardware and software solutions. Although the name Jellyfish may not be as familiar to the mainstream, LumaForge’s video editing servers are well-known among professional video clients, including Disney, Sony, Adobe, and even NASA....

After pledging $50,000 to the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) late last month upon hitting the milestone of a hundred million YouTube subscribers, Felix “PewDiePie” Kjellberg is now retracting that promise after receiving backlash from his fans. The ADL’s stated mission is to fight anti-semitism and hate in general, so it goes without saying that this doesn’t look so great when considering the famed YouTuber’s past words and actions. A range of studies have shown that popular games are sending data to multiple third-party entities, and even the developers concerned may not know what data is being sent to whom. Deutsche Bank’s Chris Whitmore argues in an investment note that Apple’s expected use of the 64-bit A7 chip will make the iPad a much more appealing proposition for the enterprise market.
