Opera has ported its Opera Touch mobile browser from Android to iOS, and claims that it’s the perfect choice for iPhone X and iPhone XS/Max owners.

The company says ‘zero-step search’ and a Fast Action button make the browser ideal for larger-screened phones without a Home button …

Opera says that Touch, unlike Safari, is ready to search the web the moment you open the app.

Safari, in contrast, leaves you wherever you last left off. Of course, that might be a pain if you in fact want to continue using the website you had open, but Opera says it has that covered too – with a feature specifically designed for one-handed use. It calls the feature the Fast Action button.

The first thing you will notice in Opera Touch is that the browser starts in search mode and is instantly ready to find things on the web. The keyboard is up and the address bar cursor is blinking.

With this, you can access your other tabs, close a tab, open a new tab and access other key features easily from the bottom of the screen.

If you rely on Safari’s Continuity feature to switch between Macs and iOS devices, Opera Touch offers its own version of that too, with the ability to instantly send a webpage from a mobile to desktop device or vice-versa. However, that only works if you’re also using Opera on your Mac, and it’s an explicit step you need to take rather than just having all your open tabs available on any Apple device.

The company believes Opera Touch also has a more modern and pleasing look than Safari.
