The 2020 Oscars will be awarded on February 9, 2020 in Los Angeles, and the musical performances will appeal to many viewers worldwide. This year’s lineup includes a singer-songwriter legend and even a mainstream pop star, but the primary theme, of course, will the the glory of movies.

Just like last year, the 2020 Oscars won’t have a host. So the show will hopefully move along at a swift pace as awards in 24 categories are handed out. Joker tops the nominations list with 11, while The Irishman, 1917, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood all received 10 nods. In between the big honors, the performances will essentially maintain a jovial mood as viewers hoot and holler in reaction to all the speeches, snubs, and cinematic drama.

The 2020 Oscar performers are collectively known for their vocal talent, with two Broadway stars among the performers. Here’s everyone that will take the stage at the 92nd Academy Awards.

Cynthia Erivo

An English actress and musician, Cynthia Erivo portrayed Harriet Tubman in the 2019 film Harriet, and will be performing “Stand Up” from the movie’s soundtrack. Erivo previously starred in the 2018 films Widows and Bad Times at the El Royale. She won a 2016 Tony Award for her performance in the Broadway production of The Color Purple.

Elton John

Elton John is a four-time Grammy Award winner, and won a Best Original Song Oscar in 1995 for “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” (The Lion King). His rise to fame, in both England and America, was depicted in the 2019 film Rocketman. John will perform the Oscar-nominated “(I’m Gonna) Love Me Again” from the Rocketman soundtrack.

Idina Menzel

In pop culture, Idina Menzel is best known as the voice of Elsa in the Frozen franchise. At this year’s Oscars, she’ll be performing the Oscar-nominated “Into the Unknown” from Frozen II, and will be joined by a few special guests, including Norwegian musician Aurora and the voices of Elsa in the international casts of Frozen 2. Menzel appeared in the 2019 movie Uncut Gems and famously portrayed Maureen Johnson in both the ’90s Broadway production and the 2005 film adaptation of Rent.

Chrissy Metz

Chrissy Metz will perform the Oscar-nominated “I’m Standing with You” from Breakthrough at the 2020 Oscars. She’s best known for portraying Kate Pearson in This Is Us and Trish in Sierra Burgess Is a Loser. In the inspirational, faith-based drama Breakthrough, Metz stars as Joyce Smith.

Randy Newman

A renowned movie composer, Randy Newman has received 20 Academy Awards nominations during his career. He won Best Original Song Oscars for “If I Didn’t Have You” (Monsters, Inc.) and We Belong Together" (Toy Story 3). This year, Newman received a Best Original Score nomination for Marriage Story, and will perform the Oscar-nominated song “I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away” from Toy Story 4.

Billie Eilish

At only 18 years old, Billie Eilish became the first woman sweep the four major categories at the 2020 Grammy Awards. By winning Best New Artist, Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Album of the Year, she also became the youngest musician ever to earn those honors. Eilish released her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?, in 2019, and she also wrote and performed the theme song for No Time to Die aka Bond 25. She has a “special performance” prepared for the 2020 Oscars.

Janelle Monáe

Janelle Monáe is an eight-time Grammy nominee, and also an accomplished actress. In 2019, she portrayed Marie Buchanon in Harriet and voiced Peg in the Disney+ remake Lady and the Tramp. Monáe has released three studio albums since 2010, and has a “special performance” planned for the 2020 Oscars.

Eminem

UPDATE: Eminem also performed at the 2020 Oscars with his Oscar-winning “Lose Yourself” from 8 Mile as part of a celebration of music in film.

These performers will appear throughout the 2020 Oscars ceremony, which will air Sunday, February 9 at 8:00 EST on ABC.
