Droughtlander is officially over, and the much-awaited season 5 is here after a whole year. The first two episodes have been crazy, and we are eagerly waiting for more. Claire is playing some major tricks here by bringing 20th-century medicines and trying to invent penicillin. Jamie is going against all that he fought for his whole life.

It will be really intriguing to watch how he manages to keep his cover and even more so when his godfather’s life is at stake. Finally, the family together is going to change some serious historical facts. As always, the show will portray a multitude of different locations and times. Today we are going to share with you five confirmed settings for this season and five we have in our wishlist.

Confirmed: Fraser’s Ridge

Remember how magical the first and the second season were? They had much more Jamie and Claire screen time than the latter seasons. After going through a lot, finally Jamie has built his house and assembled a clan at Fraser’s Ridge.

It’s a dream house for his sassenach where hopefully, we will get to experience that old magic again in the newly built cabin. Claire has her own surgery room in the house where she heals, mixes herbs, and plays surgeon. We shall also see how Jamie runs and protects his clan and family.

Want To See: Scotland

What girl will not fancy a hot Jamie with the kilt? Honestly, the first season with the highlanders and the Scottish ambiance was dreamy and mesmerizing. Add to that Jamie and Claire’s steamy romance, and you would want nothing but a hot mug of coffee to binge-watch it over and over again.

The fantasyland surroundings of Scotland added another layer of fascination. If it is still not clear, we would give anything to watch another season in Scotland with Jamie and Claire.

Confirmed: Hillsborough

The second episode features Hillsborough a lot, and it’s set to return again as a frequent target place for the regulators. Jamie has to follow and arrest Murtagh under Tryon’s orders.

A Lieutenant Knox accompanies him on the hunt of the man who, unknown to him, is the godfather of Jamie. When they arrive at the site of the riot, they are introduced to the tortured people. Jamie finds that three highlanders have been caught, thankfully Murtagh is not one of them.

Want to See: Early 18th Century

If you have read the books, you know what we are talking about. There is much more there than the show has portrayed so far. A young and beautiful Geilis travels to the time from the 20th century to fix the errors made by the Bonnie Prince Charlie and her favorite Jacobites, and change the history.

She is discovered by Roger and Buck when they set out to find the former’s son. A lot of mysteries surround the self-proclaimed witch, and we sure want answers to them. Moreover, Geils is such an amusing and fun character that we would surely want to see more of her.

Confirmed: Late 18th Century

On finding that Jamie didn’t die in the battle of Culloden, Claire has traveled to the past to her one true love after twenty long years. Jamie is still alive and working as a printer and a local dealer in the late 18th century.

Seeing her, he is more than ecstatic, and both of them flee away to the NC and build a house and the Fraser clan together. He named it Fraser’s Ridge. Claire has studied medicine and surgery in her own time, so she starts her practice as a healer.

Wand to See: 20th Century

The colonial NC is at the verge of the American Revolutionary war, and Roger is really afraid for his family. They have just had a kid, and it would be very difficult to protect them from the consequences and the aftermath of what Claire wants to achieve.

He speaks with his mother in law about it and feels better because she feels the same, too. So, hopefully, we might see Roger, Brianna, and the kid traveling back to their own time. It still remains to be seen if the kid can hear the stones singing and if he could survive the time travel, which is quite possible, as evident from the books.

Confirmed: Wilmington

The city in the NC brings Stephen Bonnet back in the game. A pirate, a smuggler, and lately an outlaw, Bonnet is the one who had raped Brianna and fathered her firstborn. He has definitely been given much more airtime this season, seeing that at least a third of The Fiery Cross and TBOSAA feature him.

However, what is interesting, though, is most of the season, even the scenes in NC are shot in Scotland itself. Sam Heughen says that they have included stock footage and videos, however, to make it look more realistic.

Want to See: France

Claire’s best costumes so far were revealed in France. Her French wardrobe is so amazing and pretty much on point with today’s designs. Her sultry red princess gown, which she wore to see King Louis XV, is hands down the best dress in the history of the TV show.

Her Dior bar suit was eye-catching, and the yellow cloak was so pretty that fans have been designing their own cloaks inspired from that. We would want her to visit France again if only to see her new wardrobe. It will be great to watch what Designer Terry Dresbach has to offer if she goes there again.

Confirmed: American Revolutionary War

Much of season five will be telling the story of the American Revolutionary War and the regulators. The war of independence covers most of the space in The Fiery Cross and The Breath Of Snow And Ashes on which this season is based.

Jamie will be questioning his allegiance with the British. Both him and Claire will possibly meddle with the revolution, and it looks like they will probably try to even stop the revolution.

Want to See: Modern America, even 21st Century

Why not? The lead actors had appeared on a small video on YouTube, where Claire brings a confused Jamie wearing a kilt and a suit to a shrink or a marriage counselor to be precise. Quite loved and viewed by millions of fans, it imagined what would happen if they traveled through the stones to present times.

It was hilarious, and we would love to watch something like that on the show. In an episode from season 5, Claire was even heard saying, “Time, space, history be damned!” Bring it on Claire!
