Parks and Recreations is still very much loved by its fans. As one of the decades defining sit-coms, the residents of Pawnee have become almost iconic in the television comedy landscape. Led by the talented Amy Poehler, the series was awarded with many accolades.
It was a shame when the series came to an end in 2015, but we were given a flash-forward in time to see where all our favorite characters are now. However, this only raises more questions that we’d love to know the answers to. Here are 10 unanswered questions about the main characters of the show.
DOES LESLIE ACTUALLY BECOME PRESIDENT?
Leslie Knope had an incredible political career. From her small-town roots in Pawnee to the big stage of governor, she’s incredibly strong, talented, and driven. Her moral values are the best we’ve ever seen, and Pawnee was lucky to have Leslie for so long.
The flash-forward implies that Leslie could have become President, but this raises a lot of questions. Did she actually enter the white house, or was this a tease for something that didn’t happen to her? And what did she do when entering office? We’d love to know her policies!
IS IT BEN THAT BECOMES HEAD OF STATE?
Of course, it could also be implied that it was Ben Wyatt that managed to have the highest honor of becoming elected President of the United States. He has his own political career after becoming the youngest elected mayor, although this ended in disaster.
There’s every possibility that with Leslie helping him out, Ben could have become President. However, we do see him as a more advisory figure to Leslie herself, but we do still wonder whether after Leslie’s time in office, whether he got to be head of state as well.
WHERE DID MARK END UP?
Mark Brendanawicz only appeared in the first two seasons of the show before being written out due to the actor wanting to leave. The character was an interesting one, so it’s a shame that he did leave, although it allowed Ben to enter the picture.
We’d love to know where Mark is now. We know he went off with a construction company that offered him a lucrative role, Mark was too talented to stay in one place for so long. Chances are he’s in a managerial role now, but we would like to know if he ever returned to Pawnee.
DID RON EVER LEAVE THE NATIONAL PARK?
Ron Swanson was one of the best characters in Parks and Rec even if he was sometimes a little controversial. The character deserved his own spin-off just so we could see more of the mustache. The meat-loving manager wanted a job where he could feel useful.
He was given a role in a National Park and absolutely loved his time there. Leslie set it all up and accepted the job on his behalf, which he was thrilled by. We want to know if he managed to rise up the ranks further, or if he practically lives in the Park now. He did he eventually leave?
DID ANN AND CHRIS EVER MOVE BACK?
Ann and Chris moved away from Pawnee in order to start their family together. The happy couple was together for many years, and when we saw them again in the future, they were talking about some significant life changes. One of these was about moving back to Pawnee.
We’re not totally sure if they ever went ahead with it, however. While Pawnee has improved as a town, which is why they felt it was appropriate to return, we know that Chris likes to change his mind a lot and might have got cold feet about the big move.
WILL CHRIS LIVE TO OVER 100?
Chris was obsessed with being healthy. He once said that he was a scientific miracle and could be the human to live the longest in history. Based on his fitness regime, we probably wouldn’t dispute that as Chris’ body was like a well-oiled machine.
We’d love to know if Chris ever made it past 100, though. It would be hilarious to see the show fast forward into the far future, with a 120-year-old Chris looking just as fit and healthy as he did all those years ago. We’ll never know if his plan actually worked, though.
DOES ANDY HAVE A LONG TV CAREER?
Andy was incredibly successful as a television host for young children. He even had his own show where he played a variety of characters, although we saw this series finally come to a close. It was a shame as it looked like it was a lot of fun.
We’d love to know whether Andy continued on a career in TV. The end of a show, as evidenced by Parks and Rec, doesn’t mean its the end of the cast’s careers. Andy was a star in the making, much like Chris Pratt. Perhaps Andy even made it into a few films… like a superhero franchise.
IS APRIL STILL AT THE FOUNDATION?
April Ludgate was one of the most emotionally complex characters in the show. She wanted to feel like she was making a real difference somewhere and was the kind of woman that could take over from Leslie when the time was right.
When she went to a foundation group that helps to choose people’s jobs, she actually decided she wanted to work at the foundation itself. It’s been some time since she made that career decision, and while she may have taken time off to be with her kids, we wonder if she’s still there or onto even bigger things.
DOES JEAN-RALPHIO REALLY BECOME A SUCCESS?
Jean-Ralphio was always looking for his next crazy success. In the far future, we see a bottle of alcohol that actually has his name on the logo. There is a suggestion here, therefore, that he finally made it big, in an industry that he’d tried his hand at before.
We want to know what happened to Jean-Ralphio and his sister Mona-Lisa. He may well be a success story now, but there’s every chance that he’s running the business into the ground and looking for a way to get out once again. It would be fun to see what he’s actually up to.
DOES TOM’S BISTRO GET CLOSED DOWN?
Jean-Ralphio’s long-time business partner, Tom, also had a lot of big changes in his life. His marriage was one of the best moments in his time on the show, but he was looking for something more. His business decisions never quite worked out.
Eventually, he decided to re-open Tom’s Bistro, and it seemed like this was finally the success he was waiting for. We’d love to know if the restaurant managed to stay open or whether it was closed once again due to poor management. We hope it’s the former!
