The show Pretty Little Liars focused on four best friends: Aria Montgomery, Hanna Marin, Emily Fields, and Spencer Hastings. These girls had a lot in common, such as losing their main bestie and being tormented by someone called A, but they also each brought their own unique personalities and styles to the show.
Spencer, in particular, was the brainiac and perfectionist of the group, and her fashion choices reflected that; she liked preppy and polished pieces, with a closet full of high-end staples and classics. And over the years, the 10 looks that are listed down below were her best ones ever.
Velvet + Halter
Towards the end of the season and at the end of the main characters’ high school career, there was a fairytale-themed dance. All of the dresses stand out in fans’ minds… especially Spenc’s.
It was velvet, dark green, had a halter-style neckline, and it fit her like a glove. It had ruching in certain places, to ensure that fab fit. It was luxurious. And it showed off all her best assets.
Blue + Beading
Another notable dance ensemble came at the ice ball when Spencer’s gown had a vintage vibe to it; all that intricate beading looks like it belongs on a flapper’s dress in the ‘20s! It was also this blue-gray color that went perfectly with the evening that looked excellent with her skin and hair. The jewelry and beauty choices were also spot on, helping in making this a top look!
This also goes to show how classic and classy this character and this actress both are… stunning.
Coat + Bangs
Spencer’s closet was full of amazing coats, and this may be the best one of them all. It was a great brown color that could go with anything and everything. It was a trench style, which is very her.
And it had lots of interesting details, like flaps and folds and buckles and such. Underneath, she has on a simple and classy all-black look, but that part is not even important, with an outer layer like this (though there are a lot of good jackets and coats in this pic). Plus, it seemed to really go well with her bangs!
Buttons + Tie
Another great outer layer was this vest that was like a trench coat without sleeves. With its big buttons and its green color, it gives off Army vibes, but Spenc dressed in, of course, such a preppy way.
This white shirt could be the same one that is listed out several more times on this list, or it could be one of the many ones she owned. She is also wearing a black tie with this, which is also very on-brand. This one-of-a-kind piece truly stands out, even after all this time, and it could have been styled so many different ways.
Cardigan + Braid
This is one of Spencer’s most memorable outfits of all time. First up, there are basic black pants, a staple that she could turn to often. Next, there was a white button-up shirt, which is going to be mentioned several more times within this list.
Then, there was a cream-colored cardigan that had some detailing on it. And like a cherry on top, she is rocking a sleek and stylish braid, which is super cute on her.
Blazer + Polka Dots
Of course, this leading lady could be found in blazers pretty often, since they are refined, and since she had professional functions to attend at times.
One of her most memorable had a bit of a nautical theme to it, with the big white buttons and the navy color. It was a little oversized, a trend she would wear often and a trend that accentuated her long and lean legs even more. Underneath this outer piece, she has a cute white blouse with navy polka dots on it, for some fun and interest.
Retro + Knee-Highs
This is a pretty different outfit for Spenc, but she accessorized it perfectly. The dress has a retro and sort of a sweetheart feel to it, though it is surely new and not actually vintage.
To complete this ensemble, she has a cardigan, a belt, knee-high socks (not the first or last time these will be seen), and these adorable white boots. They are also very old school-looking, but when all put together, this is a very on-point outfit for her.
Sweater + Blouse
Jeans can be worn with literally anything, but Spencer was not going to wear some basic T-shirt. No, she went with a classy sweater-and-blouse combo. This could be one shirt that is made to look like two, or she could be wearing a white button-down under a gray sweater.
Either way, it is the perfect mix of youthfulness and elegance, which sums up this character quite well. She also is wearing white sneakers, for an athletic vibe, since she did excel on the field, too!
Plaid + Studs
In one episode, Spencer wore another classy white blouse, but on top, she went for a darker and more dramatic look; this black sweater has studs on the shoulders (which Aria and Hanna probably wanted to steal at some point)!
The main attraction, though, would be her pants, which are printed in a red plaid. Plaid is very Spencer, and while she has several skirts in this material, it was nice to see these on her.
Jumper + Beanie
As mentioned, most of Spencer’s outfits were very preppy, but she also had some pretty unique pieces, too; as a bold person, she was definitely not afraid to wear original looks, such as this jumper, this beanie and these knee-high socks (of course).
Underneath the khaki jumper, she has a long-sleeve blouse. On her head, she added some edge with a slouchy black beanie. And to make sure she stayed true to her style, she topped it all off with knee-high socks.
