Prince Harry had reportedly lost many close friends who became resentful after Duchess Meghan became pregnant. Apparently, some friends grew frustrated with Prince Harry pulling away and prioritizing his family.
Since the couple announced last week on January 8th, that they would be stepping aside from their senior duties, Buckingham Palace has been trying to figure out how to fix their sticky situation. Prince Harry and Markle have not been living the fairytale dream that most assumed would follow after they were married. Both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have received heavy criticism from the media regarding her stance on becoming a royal. The two have tried to lay low but finally decided that enough was enough.
Most understand that when one marries their spouse some things inevitably are going to change, but friends close to Prince Harry have grown extremely concerned about their friend due to his lackadaisical attitude towards them. According to People, lifelong friends have started to claim that not only has the prince pulled away from his family but he had also started to pull away from them after Markle found out she was pregnant. The source explained that the 35-year-old had allegedly “cut off” a number of his close buddies when Markle was about halfway through her pregnancy with their son Archie.
The source went on to say that many of his childhood friends do not even have his cell phone number anymore. The friends have gathered some resentment due to the situation as they have claimed that they understand that men at times drift from their friends when they meet a new girl, but believe there is no excuse as they all have been friends since primary school. One friend who has made the cut, Charlie van Straubenzee, is still in close contact with Prince Harry. The two met while attending Ludgrove Prep School and celebrated their weddings only months apart. Straubenzee was even asked to be the godfather to Archie.
As friends grow, it is sometimes hard to keep in touch like one used to when they were younger. However, it bothers Royal watchers because while Prince Harry is losing contact with his friends, Markle seems to be staying in contact with her friends just fine. In fact, while Markle flew from Canada to England for the bombshell announcement, Archie stayed with her close friend Jessica Mulroney, whose three children were at the royal wedding. Royal watchers are hopeful that even though the couple is pulling away from royal traditions that Prince Harry can find his way back to his friends who at one time knew him the best.
