Both Prince William and Prince Harry have united to deny allegations that bullying led to their royal rift. Despite speculation, the brothers say that things aren’t quite as bad as they might appear.

The royals have always been admired, holding up centuries of traditions and pride in the UK. Before Meghan Markle entered the picture, Prince William and Prince Harry were inseparable. The two famous brothers performed most of their royal duties side by side and enjoyed picking on one another - as siblings do. Since the last royal wedding, the two princes haven’t appeared to have quite as much one-on-one time, spending more time with their new families, which has led many to believe there might be a rift between the royals.

According to Us Weekly, Prince Harry and Prince William released a joint statement to immediately stop any report about their feud. The joint statement was published early Monday and read that, even though both Prince Harry and Prince William denied any bulling, a false story was run that suggested otherwise. The statement continued to say that the Duke of Cambridge and the Duke of Sussex care deeply for one another and care deeply about the issues surrounding mental health. The pointed out that language used in the article was offensive and could have been potentially very harmful.

The story in question claimed that Prince William’s reported bullying attitude led his brother and Meghan to step aside from the British royal family. The article also claimed that Duchess Kate was not at all welcoming to Markle, and that she and Harry were constantly chastised and being put in their place. In October of 2019, Prince Harry did confirm that he and his brother had been traveling down different paths while being interviewed for the ITV documentary Harry & Meghan: An African Journey. Harry also admitted that he does not see his brother as much as they had in the past because of their busy schedules.

The tension was raised to a new level last Wednesday after Harry and Meghan announced that they would be stepping down from their senior roles in order to start a progressive new path of their own, revealing that they would become financially independent and split their time between England and Canada. Whatever the couple’s reasoning for not wanting to continue with their job might be, it has stirred up quite a bit of drama. Some defend their decision to pave their own road, while others would prefer them to stick to their royal duties and continue tradition.
