P.T. has been recreated in Dreams and it seems to be as equally horrifying as its original source material. P.T. became an instant classic in the horror genre upon its release to the PlayStation 4 store back in 2014 as the playable teaser for Silent Hills. However, developer Konami ended up cancelling Silent Hills, and, likely because of this cancellation of what seemed to be becoming one of the most anticipated Kojima games ever, P.T. garnered an air of mystery around it. To many fans, P.T. had been dubbed to be the greatest horror game of all time, even though its play time only lasted about a half hour. Due to its quality, fans constantly speculated what could have been with the cancelled project.
P.T. uses a first person camera perspective, making players feel like they were thrust into this psychological horror game themselves. Players wake up as an unknown character and are immediately encouraged to walk through the L-shaped hallway of a house which continuously loops, changing decor with each pass through. The game ushers players to do different things throughout their journey, leading to situations where players can get locked in the bathroom while hearing a crying woman right outside the door, or they can be asked to turn around by a warped radio voice only to find they have been followed by a ghost the whole time.
In 2015 P.T. was officially removed from the PlayStation Store. This left many fans trying to create solutions as to how to get the game back, and some even ended up trying to recreate it themselves. EpicLBPTime on YouTube is one fan who has done just that by recreating the iconic L-shaped hallway in Dreams, a PlayStation 4 exclusive title from the creators of LittleBigPlanet which allows players to create their own games and worlds. EpicLBPTime was even able to feature the original radio sound clips and many of the same horrific scares from P.T., some of which are visible in the video embedded below:
The way P.T. came and went from the PlayStation Store cemented the game as a cult classic in the eyes of those lucky few who got to play it. Those who have know the true horror of the game and those who have not desperately try to find ways to get their hands on a copy. P.T. was one of the few things fans were able to see of what Silent Hills could have been. With the horror team of Hideo Kojima, Guillermo Del Torro, and Junji Ito fans figured Silent Hills would have been the best game of the franchise and maybe even one of the greatest horror games to be developed ever.
The rendition of P.T. that EpicLBPTime has created features all the horrifying elements of the original game, bringing back chilling memories of its source material. At this time, it is unclear if EpicLBPTime will be adding Lisa, the ghost of the game, into their creation. But even without her, P.T. remains to be one of the most chilling environments in horror media, even in Dreams.
